Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, Shielded and HDMI Cables

Image
Types of Electronic Cables and Their Applications Electronic cables are essential for connectivity, automation, data transfer, and multimedia applications. With multiple varieties available in the market, each cable type serves a unique purpose depending on speed, distance, and performance requirements . Let’s explore the most commonly used electronic cables: 1. LAN Cable (Ethernet Cable) Local Area Network (LAN) cables , popularly called Ethernet cables , are used to connect computers, servers, and networking hardware within a defined area (e.g., colleges, offices, universities, and commercial spaces). Types of LAN Cables: Coaxial Cables – Older type, used for TV and networking. Twisted Pair Copper Cables – Standard in modern Ethernet. Fiber Optic Cables – High-speed, long-distance communication. Categories of Ethernet (CAT) Cables: Cat5 – Speeds up to 100 Mbps. Cat5e – Enhanced, up to 1 Gbps. Cat6 – Up to 10 Gbps (short dis...

Renewable energy sources

Image
Renewable energy sources are the sources of energy which can’t get extinct over the period of time. Non-renewable sources are limited available and will get extinct over the period of time examples are Crude oil, Coal etc. There are following renewable energy sources which are great source of energy and we can tap off that energy as much as can:- 1.        Solar energy 2.        Wind energy 3.        Hydro energy 4.        Geothermal energy 5.        Biomass energy We will discuss about these available energy sources and all over the world these energy sources are getting tapped abundantly so as to get reduce the reliability on non-renewable energy sources. Also these non-renewable energy source are not available with every country and in countries where non-renewable energy sources are available abundantly are chargin...

Advantages and Disadvantages of Solar Power

Image
Every technology brings along with advantages and disadvantages but we adapt the technology if advantages are more than disadvantages. In this article we will study about solar energy advantages and disadvantages. Advantages of Solar energy:- (i)                   Lower electricity cost:- Since in this energy, energy of sun is used for generation of electricity so electricity generated during that process is absolutely free and you can so much of electricity cost over the period of time. (ii)                 Renewable energy source: - Since in solar energy, sun light is used for generation of electricity so there is no thinking of conservation of any fuel. (iii)                Lower maintenance charges: - There is only cleaning of solar panels w...

Current is flow of electrons???

Image
1. What is Current? Flow or Vibration? In metals, electrical conduction happens because of free electrons (loosely bound outer electrons of atoms). When an electric field is applied (e.g., by connecting a battery or generator), these free electrons drift very slowly through the lattice. This is called drift velocity — typically a fraction of a mm/s. However, the signal (electromagnetic wave) travels through the conductor at nearly the speed of light , which makes it appear as if electricity moves instantly. 🔑 So, current is not just vibration. Electrons do drift (flow), but very slowly. At the same time, they also oscillate/vibrate due to alternating electric fields in AC circuits. Both concepts coexist: DC circuits → electrons flow slowly in one direction. AC circuits → electrons mainly vibrate back and forth about their mean positions, with almost no net displacement. 2. Why Metals Don’t “Run Out” of Electrons You raised a good point: If electrons...

Electric Bulb parts and their functions

Electric Bulb (Tungsten Filament Lamp): Parts, Working, and Safety Precautions The electric bulb is one of the most widely used lighting devices in households, industries, warehouses, offices, and commercial establishments. Although LED lights, CFLs, and decorative lamps are rapidly replacing traditional bulbs, the electric bulb still holds popularity due to its low cost and durability . These bulbs are also commonly known as tungsten filament lamps , since the filament inside them is made of tungsten. Working Principle of an Electric Bulb When electric current flows through the tungsten filament, it offers resistance. This resistance causes the filament to heat up to nearly 2,500°C , producing visible light along with heat. Tungsten is used because it: Has a very high melting point . Offers high resistivity . Is durable and cost-effective . Parts of an Electric Bulb An electric bulb consists of several components, each serving a critical role: Glass Bulb – Protects th...

Ceiling fan wiring and changing the direction of Ceiling fan

Image
Ceiling Fan Wiring and Direction Control: A Complete Guide Ceiling fans are one of the most common household appliances. They are simple, robust, energy-efficient, and provide reliable comfort throughout the year. Understanding the wiring of a ceiling fan and how to change its direction of rotation can help homeowners troubleshoot small issues without professional help. Wiring of a Ceiling Fan In homes and offices, single-phase ceiling fans are widely used. These fans typically employ single-phase induction motors , also known as fractional kilowatt (kW) motors , since their power consumption is very low (a fraction of 1 kW). A basic ceiling fan wiring diagram includes the following components: Phase (Live) Wire – supplies current to the fan motor. Neutral Wire – completes the circuit. Capacitor – provides the required starting torque for the motor. Regulator – controls the fan speed. Working Principle The capacitor creates a phase difference between the main an...
