Shri Muktsar Sahib
Shri Muktsar Sahib as the name
suggests it is situated in Punjab Malwa region. It is about 380 KMs from Delhi
and you reach there via NH-10 and then NH-09 Highway. Road to this place is
highway and highway is awesome very less traffic and smooth roads.
Shri Muktsar Sahib is not a famous
place as it is known as backward area of Punjab but it is one of the districts
of Punjab. It is hardly 60 KMs from Pakistan border and 60 KMs from Rajashtan
Border.
Mukstar name has a derived from historical
fight between 40 Mukas of Guru Gobind Singh and 12000 Mughals in which all 40 Muktas
laid their lives. From their name has been derived i.e. Mukti means freedom and
Sar arrived from word Sarovar with reference to Kidrana reservoir. Kidrana ki
dhad was the old name of Muktsar.

at Shri Muktsar Sahib:-
(i)
Gurudwara Sri
Tutti Gandi Sahib:-
This very
big Gurudwara situated in heart of city and it has many doors all over the city.
This Gurudwara is most beautiful place in Muktsar. Also a big fair is organized
every year on Makar Sakranti (14th January). Lot of people from all Punjab
gather there to take Holy dip in Its Sarovar. By taking Dip in this Sarovar all
the pains of body has been gone away and Mental stress get disappeared. There
are lot of Langars Organized all over Muktsar so as to give free food to
pilgrims.
(ii)
Gurudwara Sri
Taran Taran Sahib:-
Gurudwara Sri
Taran Taran Sahib is situated about 2 Kms from Gurudwara Sri Tutti Gandi Sahib.
In this Gurudwara Sarovar people say that after taking dip in this Gurudwara
all wished get fulfilled. Also this Sarovar has medicated properties such that
if you has some decease related to body then these will be get cured after
taking 7 dips in this Sarovar. History says that after battle of Khidrana Shri
Guru Gobind Singh Ji Stopped at this place.

Mukte
Minar:-
This is
beautiful park and is situated on Bypass of city. This park is constructed in
memory of 40 Muktas and there is big Khanda Symbol of Sikh religion faith. You
must visit this place to get peace of mind.
Best time to visit:-
Best time
to visit there is between 1st January to 20th January when there is big fair is
organized when lot of people from all across Punjab to take holy bath in both
the Gurudwaras. During that time lot of Swings are installed all across the
city and lot of temporary shops constructed for shopping, also Circus, Magic-Show,
and other dare devils perform to showcase their abilities.
Places to Live:-
You can stay either at Hotels or at
Gurudwara itself. In Gurudwara you can even enjoy healthy and tasty Langar over
there which serves people 24 Hours over there. There are also beautiful hotels
with reasonable prices all across city. If you are planning for low budget you
can even stay at Dharamshalas over there.
You may even plan to visit at
Firozpur 60 Kms from Muktsar to See Pakistan border from there.
Food Outlets:-
Punjab is always famous for variety
of foods you can enjoy tasty and spicy food through street food. If you want to
eat royal food you can enjoy the same at big Hotels such Hotel Royal Inn and Hotel
Kings Cliff.
There are Gola Special Shops,
Burger Shops, Chowmin and Sandwich Shops etc. Although there is not any brand
but still taste is much better then branded food outlets.
