PRCD Plug top

PRCD Plug:- PRCD is Plug with inbuilt RCD (Residual current detector). It is also known as Lifesavior Plug. This plug trips the connected device in case of detection of any current leakage. These plus eliminates the chances of any electrical shock and also limits the current passage through Human body.   

There are following features of this plug top:-

(i)                  Auto trip the appliance with visual indication of power.

(ii)                Power indicator for on/ off status.

(iii)               This also have test function for checking any abnormality in the circuit.

(iv)              It has reset button function for switching on the appliance after its shutdown.

(v)                It can it used for multiple applications such as:- iron, Microwaves, Water heaters, Washing machines and OTGs.

Technical specifications of PRCD Plug having rating 16A are as below:-

(i)                  Rating- Rated current 16 A / 250 V AC, Frequency 50 Hz – Power rating- 3000 W

(ii)                Current trip level is 30 mA Residual current trip levels

(iii)               Trip response time- Less than 40 m/s trip response time for ground fault and grounded neutral trip

(iv)              Ingress protection- IP 40 also known as weather protection.

In terms of costing, costing is higher than normal plug tops but considering the safety aspects it is worthwhile to purchase the same. Infact few of the companies are providing the same along with their appliances.
