Famous Museums of Delhi

     

There are so many museums in Delhi, here are famous museums which are in Delhi. Which you must visit for getting more information.

1.       National Museum:-

This museum is known for showing fascinating facts about our country.  This was established in year 1949 and this is largest museum of Delhi. This museum also have galleries for Jewellery, arts and arms. This is located at Janpath and nearest metro station to reach at this place is Rajeev Chowk Metro station.



Admission

10 am to 6 pm ( Tue to Fri) ; 10 am to 8 pm (Sat, Sun)

The Adult Ticket costs

Rs. 20/-

Foreigners Ticket costs

Rs. 500/- 

For Students

Students upto class 12th have free entry ticket (with I-cards).

2.       Railway Museum:-

This museum shows India Railways have collection of more than 100 old trains. This museum shows the static and working models, Signal system, Historical photos, and other related information. This museum also runs a small toy train for giving quick view of museum and for enjoy of kids, Best season for visiting the museum is winter as most of the trains are in open. The main attraction of this museum is Fairy queen which was built in year 1855. This museum was established in Year 1977. This museum is situated in Chankaya place. Nearest Metro is Sir Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh station Moti Bagh Metro station.

Adult INR 50/-

Child (3-12 Year) INR 10/-

Weekend & Govt Holiday Entry Ticket Charges :

Adult INR 100/-

Child (3-12 Year) INR 20/-

3.       National Gallery of Modern Art

This museum houses more than 14,000 art work of renowned, Indian and foreign artists. This includes arts of older upto Year 1850. This is located in Jaipur House, India gate. This was established in year 1954.

Entry Fee- Rs 20 for Indians and Rs 500 for Foreigners. Student entry is free

Timings- 11 AM to 6 30 PM (Mondays and National Holidays Closed)

Nearest Metro station:-Central Secretariat

 

4.       Indian Air force Museum:-

This museum houses old Indian air force aircrafts and old weapons used during wars. Apart from aircrafts and weapons this museum historic mementos, photographs, and uniforms of Air force. This is located in Palam and entry to museum is free for everyone.

Timing:- 10 AM to 5 PM (Monday and Tuesday Closed)

Nearest Metro Station:- Sadar Bazar Cantt.

5.       Sulabh International Museum of Toilets

This museum is quite unique. This shows the global history of toilets and sanitization. It is located in Mahavir enclave of Palam Dabri road.

Entry Fee:- Zero

Timings- 10:30 AM to 5 PM in winters and 10 AM to 5 PM in summers

Nearest Metro Station:- Dashratpuri
