Old Age Pension Scheme
To provide financial assistance to old age persons, which are above 60
years, old Government of Delhi launched an old age pension scheme. This scheme
is providing the benefits to senior citizens and eligible persons will get monthly
pension against the same.
We will discuss in details
about who are eligible for this scheme. How much amount they will get? Moreover,
Methods of obtaining the same.
Eligibility Criteria:-

Since Government of Delhi launches this scheme,
so this scheme will provide benefits to persons, which are residents of Delhi
for more than 5 years.
·
As stated above also that minimum age criteria
for this scheme is 60 years.
·
Apart from minimum age criteria and resident of
Delhi there is another criteria, which should be kept in mind before applying
this pension scheme, is that family income from all sources should be less then
Rs.1, 00,000 including rent, Dividend, Interest on savings etc.

The person applying for benefits under this
scheme should not be getting any financial assistance from any other government
run schemes.
·
The person Aadhar should be linked with the bank
account in which person is receiving the pension.
Benefits of this scheme:-
(i)
The persons applying for pension under this
scheme will get pension of Rs.2000 per month if person age is between 60 to 69
years. When person age is above 70 years than person will get financial assistance
of Rs.2500 per month.
(ii)
In addition to this if person is under
SC/ST/ Minority community then the person will be eligible for additional
Rs.500 per month financial assistance apart from Rs.2000 per month.
Note:- The key point is that this
pension is transferred directly into beneficiary account through ECS system so
person must have single operated account in any National Bank in NCT of Delhi
State. This is done in order to protect the old age persons benefits from being
misused by any other wrong persons and depriving the old persons from the
benefits.
Procedure for applying
the pension and Various Documents required for getting the pension:-
There are following
Documents required before application for this scheme for both online and
offline modes:-
1. Any
of the following ID proofs:-
(i)
PAN card
(ii)
Aadhar Card
(iii)
Driving Licence
(iv)
Voter ID card
2. Any
of the following Address Proof:-
(i)
Passport with validity
(ii)
Any Utility bill on the name of applicant
(iii)
Property tax bill
(iv)
Aadhar card
3. Bank
account passbook and cancelled cheque
4. Passport
size photograph- 1 no.
5. Income
tax returns/ Income self-declaration
6. Caste
certificate required in case of Minority, which should be issued from competent
authority.
7. Bank
Account should be linked with Aadhar card.
8. Income
declaration in the prescribed format.
Apart from mentioned formalities,
you have to check for available quota for applications in given constituency at
the time of application.
Eligible persons can apply
under this scheme at official portal of Government of NCT of Delhi link of the
same is https://portal.delhi.gov.in/.
Where you can go to services
link then at citizen service login.
Alternatively, eligible person
can directly visit at concerned District Social Welfare office. Eligible person
can fill the required details in given format. All the mentioned documents are
required to kept with applicant and required to be uploaded in system through
scanned copies. Aadhar card in mandatory for applying this scheme. The relevant
District social welfare office will check and scrutinise the application form
and even call the applicant for completion of verification process. When
applicant application is approved than beneficiary will start receiving the
pension amount into linked bank account.
The whole process will get
completed within 45 days if all document met the eligible criteria.
