facts about Borders of India with other countries
India has
total border length with other countries is around 14867 Km. This is 3rd
largest border after China and Russia which respective have borders lengths of
around 22,147 km and 20,017 km.
Bifurcation
of border lengths with respective countries are as below: -
a)
Pakistan- 3310 Km and it is taken care by Border Security force (BSF)
b)
Bangladesh- 4096 Km and is
taken care by BSF
c)
China- 3488 Km and is taken
care by ITBP and Special Frontier force
d)
Bhutan- 578 Km and is taken
care by Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB)
e)
Mayanmar- 1643 Km and is
taken care by Assam Riffles and Indian Army
f)
Nepal- 1752 Km and is taken
care by SSB
g)
Sri Lanka- 0.1 Km and is
taken care by BSF
Apart from
above India has coastline of 7515 km.

On India Bhutan borders there
are only small bars to separate them as there are no tense situations on
comparison to other borders.
2.
India Pakistan border is
visible from space during night time as border between India and Pakistan is so
much lightened that can be visible from space. It looks like orange thread separating
the two countries, orange colour is due to security lights during night hours.

There is huge temperature
difference throughout India Pakistan border. There is temperature as high as 50
degrees in Thar desert of Rajasthan and temperature as low as of -60 degree on
Siachen glacier. There are also so many peaks on which borders are preserved by
Armed forces. There is mountain of Mount Tirich Mir which rises near the
Pakistan-Afghanistan border to 25239 feet.
There is also Karakoram range of Mountains which contains second highest
peak in the world K2.
Above mentioned temperature
variations, peaks make the India Pakistan border as the most dangerous borders.

Border line between India and
Pakistan is known as The Radcliffe Line. The said line was created by Sir Cyril
Radcliffe.

The initial border between
India and Pakistan was formed by Lard Wavell, The Viceroy of India. But to bring
the clarity about which territory goes to which country Britain appointed Sir
Cyril Radcliffe.

Further India Sri Lanka
border is shortest land border in the world. Length of border is only 100
meters. India Sri Lanka border is joined by narrow stretch of Ram Satu also
called as Adam’s Bridge.

Bangladesh is the 5th longest land border in the world i.e. after Following
border lengths:-

of 8893 Km
(b) Kazakhstan-Russia border length of 6846 Km

of 5300 km

Nepal shares border with
Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand. Nepal and India has open border
between them. This relation allows the
citizens of India and Nepal to cross their shared borders without passport and
visa restrictions.

India Myanmar shares border
across India 4 states naming as Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
Myanmar is considered as India gateway to South East Asia.
10. India China border runs across Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal
Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Most of border is surrounded
by hills and International boundary is known as McMahon Line.
